    Description

Hello. Up for sale is a large batch of documents including prospectus, start-up, and promo film material from a Chicago company called Telecine, Inc. Well over 200 pages. Too much to list. These items come in a green folder, a yellow folder/binder, and a black ring binder. I found dates on documents ranging from the mid-1970s to the early 1980s. The President of the company was Joseph Gardunio (or Jose Gardunio). I couldn't find any info on either him or his telecine business on the web. For the most part he dealt with Spanish-language films, but there are hand-written references to big box office Hollywood films as well.
Note that nearly of the items in the yellow folder/binder are in plastic sleeves.
The corporate office was located at 2139 S. California Ave. in Chicago.
There is promo material for starting up your own Telecine business with investment costs and the like, and hand-made packs (stapled) for prospective "Club Members" to enjoy their tapes at home. The rate was per title for ten days. You'll also find a lot of hand-typed documents like film synapses - some with editing corrections in pen (first drafts). There's an 8-page "Espana Films se complace en anunciaries su...  ...1976-1977" promo pack with five titles per page listing logline, film title and cast for each. There are mimeographed pages with catalogue numbers and (perhaps) number of copies in the library, things typed out on the back of "Aztec Films, Inc." letterhead, a few blank envelopes with the Telecine return and one piece of blank stationary.
There is plenty of material that is in English. For instance, one sheet relating to the start-up business states, "The Spanish people, is one of the most tender and reachable of the sales market..." In the back of the black ring binder are about 30 pages of sales sheets. Six of those are blank. The others have a typed film title at the top along with the name Mr. Jerry D. Morris from Houston, TX. Other than that, they are also blank. I imagine Jerry might've been a distributor for the southwest region.
As for the other members of the Chicago Telecine crew, there's Joseph Gardunio Jr. in charge of booking and advertising, Ed Campos head of sales, and the company used Astro Video in San Francisco to duplicate tapes.
So set your wayback machine and enjoy hours of entertaining reading and/or research into the world of film transfers. Nice historical material.
