    Description

    You are bidding on an
    original copy
of the June 27, 1931 issue of
    THE LAST WORD
, a trade publication sent out weekly by the
    FOX WEST COAST THEATER CHAIN
during the early years of the Great Depression.
Printed on high quality “slick” paper, it provided exhibitors with the latest news about what was happening in the movie theater business, with special emphasis on the lobby displays and the stunts & gimmicks that various theaters were successfully using to promote their films. In addition, each issue contained material reprinted from the press books of several current films, including 5 or 6 ad mats of various sizes, sample news stories suitable for “planting” in local newspapers, etc.
This particular issue has press book material for
    The Smiling Lieutenant
    (Maurice Chevalier) and
    Son of India
(Ramon Novarro). There are also photos showing the stunts being conducted at various Fox West Coast Theaters (such as washing an elephant at a local car wash and conducting a food drive for needy children), plus articles telling what various theaters were doing to promote films such as
    Dracula
    and
    Skippy
    , events associated with the
    Mickey Mouse Clubs
that various theaters were running, etc. 16 pages measuring about 12 inches by 17 inches.
This copy comes from a non-smoking household.
The first and last pages are loose and a little tattered, but the inside pages are clean and unmarked. This is
A GENUINE AND EXTREMELY RARE PIECE OF MOVIE MEMORABILIA FROM 90 YEARS AGO.
This item will be shipped via USPS 1st Class Mail w/tracking. If you collect rare and unusual movie memorabilia from the 1930s, this item is for you.  It’s been priced to sell, so
